ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting into Alberta Central’s Director, IT strategy, this position contributes a unique blend of IT business analysis and project management skills. This position has a strong understanding of IT within an organization and will assess and document business needs and requirements for the modification or enhancement of systems and services; develops business cases; prepares detailed specifications and project plans; acts as liaison between the client and technical resources; and oversee the project from initiation through to implementation. This position provides business analysis and project management guidance to organizational resources. The successful candidate will be an agile and collaborative team player with an ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Undertakes business analysis activities relating to IT and service modifications/ enhancements to benefit the organization.
  • Gathers information from stakeholders, conducts research, and documents business needs and requirements.
  • Identifies options for potential solutions, evaluates the technical and business suitability of each option, and participates in assessing the priority, feasibility and impact of undertaking the project.
  • Develops business cases for modifications or enhancements, summarizing the costs, benefits, and measurable success criteria.
  • Participates or leads in presenting proposals to management and/or stakeholders and provides input to selecting the best options to meet business and technical needs.
  • Participates in preparing project plans, timeline and budget and communicates requirements to the technical team; ensures project deliverables meet stated requirements, are delivered to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.
  • Tracks and oversees the project life cycle from analysis through to deployment, provides project updates, and acts as liaison between technical, operational staff and clients in resolving planning and implementation issues.
  • Participates in developing a project implementation plan and oversees implementation, including quality assurance, testing and any modifications required.
  • Provide information, training and support on new and enhanced products and services.
  • Troubleshoot and work with service providers to resolve issues.
  • Support risk management and effective governance by maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and controls both corporately and within area of responsibility, ensuring they are operating effectively and escalating discrepancies to management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Related University degree and typically 10 or more years of related experience; or combination of formal education and experience.
  • Broad experience in Information Technology.
  • Knowledge of electronic banking and payments.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Canadian credit union system is an asset.
  • A professional certification such as PMP or CBAP is an asset.
  • Team-oriented, having experience collaborating with multiple levels and sectors of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize effort and manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be bondable.
