Alberta Central and Credit Unions of Alberta are excited to announce the launch of the Big Future Innovation Grant, which opens for applications October 28th!

The grant, originally launched in 2020, provides an opportunity for two Alberta-based small business owners to receive $25,000 in funding to help grow their business and foster innovation.

Since 2020, $200,000 worth of grants have been distributed to six different Alberta-based small businesses that demonstrated original ideas and meaningful support for their communities. This grant is all about celebrating the innovative spirit of Albertans and giving business owners the extra funds they need to take their business to the next level, in the same way that credit unions go above and beyond for small business owners with products, services and advice.

Applications for the Credit Unions of Alberta Big Future Innovation Grant 2024 will be open October 28th to November 15th or until the first 100 applications are received.

The application process includes the completion of an online form that asks business owners to explain how their business is innovative, how they support their community and how the funds will aid in future business growth. For full rules and regulations, including eligibility requirements, visit the Credit Unions of Alberta website here.

The first 100 applications will be reviewed and shortlisted, with the top five asked to give virtual pitch presentations to a panel of judges that includes business leaders from across the Alberta credit union system and a previous grant winner. The two recipients will be selected based on these presentations and awarded a $25,000 grant to be deposited into a business account with their local credit union.
