Syndicate Lending & Corporate Banking Services Associate

13 Month Full Time Co-op Position Starting July 2024

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director, Syndicate Lending and Corporate Banking, this position is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to the Lending and Banking Services department.  This position supports the organization’s banking and lending operations, including the commercial loan syndication program and securitization reporting services, and is a resource and support to both internal and external stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist in the origination, analysis, administration and authorization of syndicated commercial real estate loan facilities.
  • Assist in the testing and implementation of securitization related reporting services.
  • Answers incoming email inquiries with respect to financial institution settlement accounts.
  • Administer and balance incoming daily banking system settlement process (file load) accurately and within time constraints as outlined by Celero.  Make corrections and follow up with credit unions or internal clients as required. Ensure all credit union transactions are entered into the banking system.
  • Provide back-up to the Current Accounts Analyst as required. This includes internal account reconciliations, daily settlements, posting of banking transactions such as branch remote deposit capture and creation of wires, preparation of daily FINTRAC reports required for regulatory compliance, and management of cash services transactions.
  • Tracking and collecting of Banking & Lending administration fees, automated funds transfer fees and statement fees.
  • Provide administrative support to the department including drafting, formatting, version control, filing of financial services documents and procedures as well as the preparation and circulation of Financial Services department reports, including reports to Management Credit Committee, the Audit Finance Risk Committee and the board of directors.
  • Act as first line of support for inquiries relating to the forms and manuals program, billing, communications, software releases and reporting.
  • Support risk management and effective governance by maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and controls both corporately and within area of responsibility, ensuring they are operating effectively and escalating discrepancies to management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years university completed in Business Administration or Commerce specializing in Finance
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to set priorities and effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills with proven quantitative problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Possess good communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency Level of Microsoft Office Suite: Word – intermediate, Excel – basic, PowerPoint – intermediate and Outlook – intermediate
  • Must be bondable
