ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting into Alberta Central’s Chief Investment Officer, this permanent full-time position provides support to the treasury department by monitoring positions, measuring performance, and assuring timely settlement of investments.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Monitor and confirm compliance to the Investment Policy of Alberta Central in all investment and treasury activities undertaken.
  • Monitor positions, measure performance, and assure timely settlement of investments, derivatives and foreign exchange.
  • Enhance, maintain and administer a comprehensive program for the documented analysis of fixed income investments.
  • Support the development and administration of reporting as required.
  • Manage documentation, calculate mark to market, and assure timely payments necessary for all derivative structures entered into on a proprietary basis for Alberta Central.
  • Prepare and present to management various reports confirming compliance.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Support risk management and effective governance by maintaining compliance with policies, procedures and controls both corporately and within area of responsibility, ensuring they are operating effectively and escalating discrepancies to management.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Related University, college, formal certification or a combination of formal education and 2 years of experience.
  • Working towards a professional designation
  • Previous financial services industry experience.
  • Team-oriented, having experience collaborating with multiple levels and sectors of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize effort and manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office.
  • Must be bondable.
