In recent interviews with BNN Bloomberg and the Financial Post, Alberta Central’s Chief Economist Charles St-Arnaud spoke on the recent GDP numbers, reporting on the modest gains of February and the signs that indicate a slowdown is coming soon.

The economy still has some momentum — but that momentum might be fading away,” he told BNN Bloomberg in an interview.

He also noted that he predicts GDP for the second quarter will likely come in flat based on the “negative economic impact” of the strike and March’s expected pullback in growth.
