Happy International Credit Union Day!
Recognized on the third Thursday in October since 1948, International Credit Union (ICU) Day is a all about celebrating the great work that credit unions do across Alberta working tirelessly to support their members to empower their financial future and support the communities they operate in.
For 2022, Alberta Central in partnership with Credit Unions of Alberta wants to recognize this day by giving back to our community through a Calgary and Edmonton Food Bank virtual fundraiser. We are encouraging all our employees, credit unions and their employees who can to support these vital organizations.

Alberta Central, the central banking facility, service bureau and trade association for Alberta’s credit unions, has made a $1,000 corporate donation to the Calgary Food Bank and $1,000 corporate donation to the Edmonton Food Bank as a part of the fundraiser and has also donated $500 to the Calgary Seniors Resource Society to support vulnerable seniors and $500 to Brown Bagging for Calgary Kids to ensure no kid goes hungry at school in honour of ICU Day.
