About the speakers

Jeremy Nicholls
Jeremy has over 30 years of experience in fraud investigation, strategy, detection and prevention. Jeremy spent 19 years with the British Police where he was responsible for the investigation of serious and complex frauds both nationally and internationally. Moving to Canada in 2007, Jeremy became the lead investigator for mortgage and property fraud in Alberta, before being recruited by one of Canada’s top four largest credit unions where he was responsible for their fraud detection and prevention strategies which resulted in significant reductions in losses over his 9-year tenure.

Joel Grannum
Joel Grannum joined CUMIS as a Risk Management Security Specialist in 2016 and has been involved in the security industry for 17 years. He is a member of ASIS International’s Banking and Financial Services Steering Committee and is a member of the International Association of Financial Crime Investigators. He also serves as a Reservist in the Canadian Armed Forces with 31 Signal Regiment.
