Alberta Central, on behalf of the Credit Unions of Alberta, has made a donation to the Canadian Red Cross as part of the recently launched 2023 Alberta Fires Appeal.
This donation is intended to show support for the people and communities who have been impacted by the more than 100 wildfires currently causing damage to homes, businesses, infrastructure and the environment across Northern Alberta.
This Appeal directly supports the people who have been impacted by these wildfires, including the tens of thousands of people who have had to be evacuated from their homes. The donation will be used by the Red Cross for immediate and ongoing relief, recovery and resilience efforts in response to fires, as well as community preparedness and risk reduction work to address future disaster events within Alberta.
