Alberta Central Future Leader Scholarships
Why do we provide scholarships?
Alberta Central believes in supporting our employees. By providing scholarships we are helping to build future leaders and deepen understanding of the credit union system.
For 2025 we are pleased to offer multiple Alberta Central Future Leader Scholarships, each valued at $5,000, for the following categories:
- One scholarship open to children of Alberta Central employees or board members.
- Four scholarships open to children of credit union employees or credit union board members.
Scholarship Eligibility:
- Any child of an employee or board member from one of the following organizations is welcome to apply:
- Alberta Central.
- Alberta credit union.
- Students can be entering any year of a post-secondary degree, diploma, certificate or trade program (including undergraduate and post-graduate programs).
- Programs can be based anywhere in the world (not just Alberta or Canada), as international programs are accepted.
Application requirements and timeline:

- Complete the online application form below between June 30 and August 29, 2025.
- Included in the application form is a consent to the collection of personal data and to the sharing of your name, photo and biography on Alberta Central/Credit Unions of Alberta digital properties and/or social media channels if you are selected as the recipient. You will also be expected to securely share your Social Insurance Number as the funds are taxable.
- Included in the application form is the submission of the following items, also required by August 29:
- Answer four short essay questions;
- Attached a reference letter from a community member (reference letters from family members will not be accepted); and
- Attach proof of post-secondary acceptance (e.g., acceptance letter or transcript).
- Judges from Alberta Central will review all applications and select a recipient no later than September 29, 2025. Winners will be notified directly and posted to Alberta Central’s digital properties thereafter.
- Funds will be distributed no later than October 31, 2025.
Scholarship application:
The Alberta Central Future Leader Scholarship requires applicants to complete a form, which includes four short-answer essay questions. Please be advised that you will need to complete and submit your application in one session. We suggest preparing your submission in a separate document before filling out the online form.
