Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is now hiring a Director, Project Management Office for a full-time role.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Prairie Payments Joint Venture (PPJV) is a joint venture owned by three Prairie centrals created to digitally transform and modernize payment services for credit unions in the Prairies. PPJV’s goal is to ensure prairie credit unions are competitive in payments and have access to efficient, modernized payments processing infrastructure. 

The Position:

The Director, Project Management Office is a seasoned project management professional who is accountable for defining, implementing and governing project management practices at PPJV, including standards, methodologies, controls, and portfolio reporting. This role oversees and provides guidance to project managers reporting into the PMO to enable excellence in planning and execution of projects. The Director, Project Management Office should have proven success leading a team in driving business results through effective leadership and collaboration with key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities also include:

  • Establish the PMO and create the center of excellence that leverages industry best practices and aligns to the organization strategy.
  • Monitor and govern projects to ensure compliance with PMO standards.
  • Provide portfolio reporting to leadership team on project health and manage key project/program issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Serve as a change leader for all Project Management Office (PMO) and support PPJV needs.
  • Regularly communicates and collaborates with other leaders and project sponsors to discern areas for improvement, to share/gather information, to resolve cross-functional issues and to ensure an integrated, holistic approach to project management.
  • Directly engage and motivate project managers and project practitioners to produce results, and foster a work environment conducive to on-going learning, career development and process improvement.
  • Lead the review and analysis of issues and internal escalations within the PMO; facilitates both short- and long-term resolutions to increase project management effectiveness and process reliability.
  • Create and implement standardized project planning and management methodologies and workflows for all Project Management related processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality products/services that meet set standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and govern program and portfolio management processes, uses of dashboards, templates, keeping aligned with policies and metrics.
  • Identify and acquire (or create), implement, and measure results utilizing tools to increase PMO productivity and efficiency as well as overall project quality.
  • Monitor and manage the overall spectrum of PMO commitments and deliverables including evaluating workload capacity, recruitment, developing and managing project schedules, budgets, defining inter-dependencies, assessing risks, and tracking/reporting status.
  • Provide leadership and performance management to the team including coaching and mentorship.

Position Requirements

  • Experience working in or an understanding of financial services industry.
  • Experience working on technology projects and complex programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of job-related experience in project management or business or related experience
  • Completion of the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is desired.
  • Extensive experience in the utilization of structured project management methodologies.
  • Agile project management experience would be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Proven training, coaching, team building, facilitation, and leadership skills to fully engage individuals and teams to accomplish work goals in a fast-paced and changeable work environment.
  • Expert in facilitating change management throughout an organization.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional leaders and senior management team.
  • Must be bondable.
