In recent coverage from the Calgary Herald and online outlets, Alberta Central Chief Economist spoke about the surprising job numbers and what this could mean for the Bank of Canada around interest rates.

He noted that, “There are still some reasons to be concerned about inflation. But at the same time we’re seeing the real economy – both in terms of labour and growth – slowing.”

He stated that further rate increases are unlikely but cannot be ruled out.
